Happy Diwali – Festival of lights

Diwali or Deepavali is the Hindu and Jain festival of lights celebrated every year in the Hindu calendar month of Kartika. Diwali spiritually signifies the victory of light over darkness, good over evil, knowledge over ignorance, and hope over despair. Its celebration includes millions of lights shining on housetops, outside doors and windows, around temples and other buildings in the communities and countries where it is observed.

Lakshmi Ganesha pooja, sweets, lit up clay oil lamps, rangoli decorations, lights and fireworks depict the usual sight on this festival of lights. Jains celebrate the moksh kalyanak of vartaman antim tirthankar Lord Mahavira on this day. While the Hindus celebrate the return of Lord Ram to Ayodhya from his exile of 14 years after Ram defeated Ravana. May this Diwali brings happiness, prosperity, health and wealth to all.
